Dental diagnostics has been supported for decades by imaging, in particular radiological procedures.

The artificial intelligence (AI for short) developed by dentalXrai automatically evaluates digitized dental X-ray images in a matter of seconds and provides aid to dental professionals. The software analyzes bitewing, periapical, and panoramic radiographs for radiological abnormalities (caries, periapical radiolucency, dental calculus, and periodontal bone loss), and other findings (dental fillings, dental crowns, dental implants, dental bridges and root-canal fillings, proximity of lower molars to mandibular canal, and impacted teeth). The localization and classification of teeth is used for tooth charting and reporting.
